My Sister’s Prayer by Mindy Starns Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
My Sister’s Prayer is the second book in the Cousins of the Dove Series. I enjoyed the first novel and found this novel a great continuation. Maddee is the cousin who is the focus in the modern day portion of the book. She prepares to take in her sister Nicole who is recovering from a disastrous auto accident and her drug addiction. Nicole has been living with their wealthy grandmother but has begged to move in with Maddee. Maddee lays down boundaries and rules for Nicole to abide by in order to stay in her tiny apartment. As the sister’s are learning to live with each other under uncomfortable circumstances, their grandmother hands them letters written by two sisters from their ancestral line in the early 1700’s. Will these letters bring the harmony and forgiveness needed? What lessons can they learn from two women struggling to find their way in the New World? Will their faith in God increase?
The authors handle the world of addiction through Nicole’s life and situation with reality. Having experienced that in my home I could relate to the characters and the drama that occurred in the novel.
I received a copy of this book from Net Galley for my honest review which I have given.
