Miracle in a Dry Season by Sarah Loudin Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oh, I had no idea what was in store for me when I began reading Miracle in a Dry Season! What a treat! Every page held my attention and I was so absorbed in the story I could not put the book down. These characters are precious and very well developed. I felt their agony, their joy, and their dilemmas. Perla finds she does not belong anywhere and few want to befriend her. Her darling daughter, Sadie innocently loves everyone and is her mother’s one joy. Casewell enters church one Sunday morning having no idea what is coming his way when Sadie acknowledges him. The town has no idea what is coming their way when the longest drought in their history takes hold of every part of their lives. Tumult, unkindness, and sorrow run throughout the story. Yet Casewell’s heart desires to change what he sees in his heart and others. Will it be enough to reach the darkest places, the unforgiving souls, and the judgements laid down? You must read this amazing story of disgrace and grace found.
I highly recommend this debut book by Sarah Loudin Thomas!
