Colors of Christmas – Heartwarming Novellas!

March 10, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

Colors of Christmas: Two Contemporary Stories Celebrate the Hope of ChristmasColors of Christmas: Two Contemporary Stories Celebrate the Hope of Christmas by Olivia Newport
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Both of these Christmas novellas surprised me with their genuine spirit and characters. Angela grieves her best friend. She would rather forget Christmas this year, but circumstances plop her right into the biggest public celebration with neon blue decorations. She wants to hide yet the town will not have its annual joyous parade and holiday music unless she plans, prepares, and produces. She receives help from an unusual stranger and who knows? She may pull it off after all. A delightful heartwarming story!
Astrid’s life has included more loss and pain over the years and now her family wants her to move into an assisted living community. Her grace and wit, her attitude and fortitude may see her through this difficult transition. Another pleasurable novella to set the Christmas tone with challenging situations that we often face in what should be a happy time of year.

Advent in Narnia – Excellent Tradition Addition!

Advent in Narnia: Reflections for the SeasonAdvent in Narnia: Reflections for the Season by Heidi Haverkamp
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Advent in Narnia will please any Narnia fan and others, too. What a unique way to prepare for Christ’s birth! The author mixes in both Narnia characters and scripture to enlighten the season. The book holds twenty-eight devotions with reflection questions. I read this by myself but will enjoy using it in the future with my grandson and family as Narnia becomes real to him. Since my copy is an e-book I look forward to purchasing the hardbound edition. It is lovely and will complement my Christmas collection.
I am thankful to NetGalley for this reading and reviewing opportunity. My views and honest opinions are my own.

A Robertson Family Christmas – Warm and Heartfelt!

A Robertson Family ChristmasA Robertson Family Christmas by Kay Robertson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love watching Duck Dynasty and seeing the antics of the Robertson clan so when the opportunity came through The Book Club Network to receive this book for an honest review I snatched it.
This Christmas tale is told by Miss Kay, the matriarch of the family. I thought when I picked it up it was a true story since the flavor is genuine and familiar. A contest is held to allow a young person spend the Christmas holidays with Willie and Korie Robertson’s family. An unhappy Hunter Clarke wins. His mother secretly sent his name in. The scene couldn’t be more awkward. But knowing the Robertsons and their give it all attitude Hunter didn’t stand a chance. Korie senses Hunter’s needs with her intuitive instincts. He is slow to respond. Even Phil gets in the act and takes him duck hunting right down to the cleaning and cooking. With the Holiday season the faith of the family rings true and the stops are pulled to make this a special time for Hunter. This book is a warm, delightful addition to my Christmas book collection and I hope it will be for you as well.

Thank you to The Book Club Network for this book. I have given my honest review in exchange.

Christmas in Vermont: A Very White ChristmasChristmas in Vermont: A Very White Christmas by Bryan Mooney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a great, first Christmas book of this year to read! The riveting beginning takes you into a lovely scene of celebrating Christmas yet also bringing families together, redeeming lives, and new beginnings. I enjoyed the characters in this novel and would love to read more about them in the future. Just for my followers, there is a tiny bit of language in this one but I felt the book was definitely worth reading.
I highly recommend this book!

An Amish Second Christmas – A Delight!

January 12, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment

What a precious collection of Christmas stories! Each one was unique but captivating and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them. The Amish characters drew me in learning about their Christmas celebrations. Four stories with different aspects of life that anyone can relate to and be captivated by. Since they are all short this was a quick read yet I wanted them to go on. Love, friendship, family, and faith float through all of them.

I highly recommend this delightful book, An Amish Second Christmas by four great authors!

I received this ebook from BookLook Bloggers for an honest review which I have given.
