Advent in Narnia: Reflections for the Season by Heidi Haverkamp
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Advent in Narnia will please any Narnia fan and others, too. What a unique way to prepare for Christ’s birth! The author mixes in both Narnia characters and scripture to enlighten the season. The book holds twenty-eight devotions with reflection questions. I read this by myself but will enjoy using it in the future with my grandson and family as Narnia becomes real to him. Since my copy is an e-book I look forward to purchasing the hardbound edition. It is lovely and will complement my Christmas collection.
I am thankful to NetGalley for this reading and reviewing opportunity. My views and honest opinions are my own.
Look no further for your next Advent devotional! Lee Warren has written a creative, informative, and family friendly introduction to the days ahead of Christ’s birth. Each chapter delights with adjoining readings for younger ones and for older children as well as adults. He includes fulfilled prophecy, symbols and traditions, crafts and projects. Every day has a written prayer, a Christmas carol, and a devotion plus so much more. The names of Jesus are a part of the instructive book, a verse for the daily sections, and ways to share the Christmas experience with others. You can begin on December first and continue on past Christmas day until December 31st. This advent worship adventure has something for everyone in the family. I highly recommend using The Experience of Christmas for a thoughtful, spiritual, and prayerful advent season! All ages will glean valuable information, spiritual insight, and adoration of the Christ child.
