You Were Always Mine – Book Review – Suspense and Intrigue!

February 22, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

You Were Always MineYou Were Always Mine by Nicole Baart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a page turner! If you like suspense, a clean novel, and family ties this may be the book for you. I won You Were Always Mine from a Goodreads’ giveaway and was not familiar with the author. Her writing is brilliant and kept me engaged from page one on. Her characters fill their roles with authenticity.
A dedicated mother of two boys loses her husband in an unusual hunting accident. As her life spins out of control, she discovers secrets that leave her unsettled about his death and her future.
I recommend You Were Always Mine. Subjects in the book include adoption, marriage, friendship and betrayal.

Thank you to Goodreads and Nicole Baart for this opportunity to read this book. My own honest, opinions are expressed in this review.

Home – Fabulous Read!

HomeHome by Ginny L. Yttrup
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love when an author gives her characters real struggles, with deep angst, and life-changing decisions throughout the novel. Melanie and Craig Vander face different choices out of the tragedy that struck them years before. Will what they choose keep their marriage off the brink it is on or tear them apart?
To keep them financially afloat, Melanie desperately writes another novel and her characters may help her find what she needs. Her neighbor struggles with her own challenges. Grab this book and see for yourself what their relationship creates.
From the first page, I realized I was reading an above average book by a Christian author. The validity of the concerns, how she knit them into the story, and how each person concludes their situations excelled beyond my expectations! This book can be read by non-Christians. Her use of scripture and faith occur naturally.
I can’t wait to read another one of Ginny Yttrup’s books!
I received 2 copies of this book, an ebook from NetGalley and the paperback from Barbour Publishing. I have written my honest opinion and review here.

Home to Chapel Springs – A Delightful Read!

August 2, 2016 by admin Leave a Comment

Home to Chapel SpringsHome to Chapel Springs by Ane Mulligan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my second Chapel Springs book by Ane Mulligan and I was delighted again. She writes several captivating stories into the plot. Claire and Patsy have been BFFs their whole lives and their families have grown up with weddings in the horizon. There is a mayoral race in Chapel Springs that places the town council in need of actions to bring peace to this little burg. A newcomer to Chapel Springs, Carin, a successful author and her young son arrive penniless after her husband leaves and takes all of her books’ commissions. She is depleted financially, spiritually, and is scrambling to find ideas to write a new book. Surprises await her as she learns to wait on God for everything in her life. Claire and Patsy are weaved into all of the lives and action bringing humor, faith, and friendship everywhere they go as in the other Chapel Springs books. I would love to have them as my buds and meet daily at Dee’s and Dough’s for coffee, tea, and breakfast with them. This book is very well written with faith and life lessons intertwined. I highly recommend Home to Chapel Springs and this author, Ane Mulligan.
