Book Review – The Green Dress by Liz Tolsma – Mysterious!

June 24, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

In Boston, 1886, Harriett Peters desires to assist the Robinson family and remains loyal to them as they have taken her in off the street. She is finally grounded as her hat making business progresses but life becomes more traumatic as the storyline continues. Her friend, Dr. Michael Wheaton is concerned is desperate to aid her. Harriett watches Michael find strength in his faith as locals mock him and it may rekindle her own trust in God as she watches Robinson family members die one by one.

Liz Tolsma creates a mysterious air that causes the reader to keep wondering what is the truth. I read late into the night to discover the answers to Harriett and Michael’s quests.

I received a copy from Net Galley and Barbour Publishing, Inc. I was not compensated for this review. All thoughts are my own.

Murder is No Accident – Another Thriller from Gabhart!

Murder is No Accident (Hidden Springs Mystery #3)Murder is No Accident by A.H. Gabhart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Deputy Sheriff Michael Keane’s simple job in his little town changes to high stress when a realtor, engaged in selling a home accidentally falls down the house’s staircase. She dies from her injury. No one considers this incident a murder but Michael senses something awry. As one of the oldest homes in town, this three story mansion carries a history of falls. The citizens maintain closed mouths not assisting Michael at all. Is there something sinister occurring in his domain?
I thoroughly enjoyed this third novel in the Hidden Springs Mystery series. This can be read as a stand alone but the fascinating people living in Hidden Springs will grow on you in each book. A. H. Gabhart has written another hit! Hopefully, another in the series is coming to resolve issues left open!

NetGalley and Revell provided a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Murder Comes By Mail – Fantastic Second Book in the Series!

June 25, 2016 by admin Leave a Comment

Murder Comes by Mail (Hidden Springs Mystery #2)Murder Comes by Mail by A.H. Gabhart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I saw that A. H. Gabhart had her second book out in the Hidden Springs Mystery series I grabbed the chance to read it. Her characters are well developed and believable. I really like Deputy Sheriff Michael Keane, the lead in this series. His humbleness and unassuming personality make this mystery very appealing. He becomes the hero in the town early on but then he feels more as an albatross as people are being killed. This book is a delight to read and the suspense keeps you turning the pages until the end. What I enjoy, too, is that Michael is in love with a woman who used to live in his town but now is a big shot attorney who never wants to return to her roots. Michael’s feisty aunt continues to convince him to settle down but Michael likes life the way it is, simple and uncomplicated. I highly recommend Murder Comes by Mail.

I received a copy from NetGalley for my honest review.

Suspence and Mystery!

A Promise to Protect (Logan Point #2)A Promise to Protect by Patricia Bradley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This suspenseful read grabs you in the beginning and doesn’t let go until the end. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline that includes the past and the present. I hadn’t read the first book in this series which would have cleared up some questions if I had read it but Patricia eventually clues the reader in. Leigh, the leading lady is a bit head strong and makes life difficult for the Sheriff Ben Logan in trying to protect her and her son, TJ. The mystery keeps one turning the pages to discover who the real killer is and what is behind all the strange occurrences. I liked the romance, the addition of some faith, and the clean writing. It’s very entertaining and worth a few nights to stay up to read A Promise to Protect by Patricia Bradley!

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Net Galley and Revell.

Fascinating Read!

AwakeningAwakening by Tracy L. Higley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a fascinating first read from Tracy Higley Awakening was for me! I was intrigued by her style and story. Mystery was around every corner and unexpected turns occur in her plotline. Her characters were driven by inner turmoil that even they did not grasp. One of the best parts of this read was the beautiful scenes Tracy describes as Kallie and Dimitri travel around the globe. I felt as though I could see places in my mind that I have never visited. Two storylines mix into the book which at first threw me off but soon engaged me completely. She seamlessly works this to her advantage in the telling of this novel. I highly recommend Awakening as your next read. You won’t regret it.

Each chapter was sent to me by email by the author and I appreciated her generosity. This review is an honest exchange for her gift to me.
